Giant Peace Painting on Public Display

(Philadelphia, PA) Ð From May 28th until June 24th, Craig Stover, artist and Philadelphia resident will be exhibiting his largest painting in the Art Window at DaffyÕs Department Store on 17th and Chestnut Street, Philadelphia. The painting, titled "Aggressive Nature", measures 8Õ x 15Õ was completed in the last days of February, 2003.

The painting, titled Aggressive Nature, refers to the theme of human hostility and the cost it takes on our freedoms and civil society. "Confronting our aggressive nature is the first step towards peace," said the artist. Its three central characters represent aggression, liberty and justice but are abstracted by their interactions.

The Art Window at DaffyÕs offers local artists unaffiliated with retail galleries the opportunity to showcase their talents with a month long public display. This is the third time Craig Stover has displayed work in the Art Window.

A downloadable image of the painting can be found on the artists web site at www.picturemaker.com/press/agnat.zip . Additional images can be obtained for reproduction purposes by contacting the artist at 215.235.8088.
